Who Is Andariel in Diablo 4?

Andariel, known as the Maiden of Anguish, is more than just a nostalgic callback to Diablo II-she's a fearsome endgame challenge designed for players deep into their progression. As Duriel's twin, she thrives on inflicting suffering, and her Diablo 4 design reflects this twisted nature: a grotesque, multi-armed figure chained in perpetual torment.

Introduced as a Lair Boss, Andariel underwent key changes starting in Season 10. Her invulnerability phases were removed, shifting the fight from a slow endurance test to a high-stakes damage check. This means aggressive, well-optimized builds can shorten the encounter significantly, rewarding players who prioritize raw damage output alongside survivability.

Andariel's Location: How to Reach Her

Andariel resides in Hanged Man's Hall, a dungeon located in eastern Kehjistan. To reach her efficiently, start by teleporting to the Tarsarak waypoint-this is the fastest starting point for your journey.

From Tarsarak, head directly east into the Scouring Sands region. The entrance to Hanged Man's Hall is easy to spot once you're in the area, but note that the dungeon is only accessible on Torment 1 or higher. Before venturing in, double-check your world tier to avoid wasted time-Andariel won't spawn on lower difficulties.

Inside Hanged Man's Hall, fight your way through the dungeon's enemies until you reach the Altar of Anguish. This is where Andariel awaits, ready to unleash her fury on any player brave enough to challenge her.

How to Summon Andariel

Unlike many endgame bosses in Diablo 4, Andariel does not require materials to start the fight itself. Once you reach the Altar of Anguish in Hanged Man's Hall, you can engage her freely-no summoning rituals or rare components needed.

However, to claim her valuable rewards, you'll need to open Andariel's Hoard after defeating her. This requires 3 Pincushioned Doll keys, which drop from two other Initiate Lair Bosses: Beast in the Ice and Lord Zir. Each of these bosses requires their own materials to cheap D4 Gold  summon, making Andariel farming part of a larger endgame ladder system.

A useful side note: After defeating any ladder boss (including Andariel), there's a small chance Mini Belial will spawn. Killing him drops a Betrayer's Husk, a valuable item for later Belial farming-so keep an eye out for this bonus encounter.
